Ten individuals and the 1993-94 state championship varsity boys basketball team were enshrined in the White Plains High School Athletics Hall of Fame on Monday evening. The ceremony kicked off with a social reception, where inductees congregated with a large crowd of family and old friends to celebrate and reminisce on their times playing sports for White Plains High School.
“Play On!” is hitting the stage of the White Plains High School Little Theater tonight, and students completed their final rehearsal to prepare for the show yesterday afternoon. The play is a comedy which features a tumultuous theater production where the playwright wreaks havoc with constant rewrites. It will be performed at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 7, and Saturday, November 8. Tickets can be purchased for $10 at the door with cash or check.
Time stands still, quite literally, at Eastview Middle School, where a clock in the auditorium has long stopped ticking and the building stands as a proud landmark for generations of White Plains students on its 100th anniversary.
The White Plains City School District congratulates the girls soccer and field hockey teams, who recently competed in the playoffs! They had a great season and we're very #WPProud of them! Assistant Athletics Director Michael Chappas said it was "a great season for both teams!"
The spirit of Fred Gressler, a beloved middle school physical-education teacher, coach and avid runner who passed away 30 years ago, continues to inspire students, staff and families.
Spooky, and very creative, costumes filled the halls of White Plains schools today, as celebrations of Halloween were held throughout the district. Several schools held parades and Halloween Spirit Day, and district staff at Education House even joined in on the fun by wearing costumes. To cap off the day, middle school students participated in the Fred Gressler Memorial Walk at Eastview and Highlands to raise funds for PTA events. Fred Gressler was a beloved physical education teacher and coach at White Plains Middle School for 27 years.

Dr. Joseph L. Ricca, Superintendent of Schools:
This morning, approximately 15 workers from Ironworkers Local 40 set up a picket line outside of the White Plains High School property to protest the use of non-union labor performed by Stronghold Industries, a subcontractor working for general contractor UniMak, on the addition to the high school. Protestors are not blocking any entrances to the school, and all students arrived safely this morning. The White Plains Police Department was notified, has made contact with picketers, and will have extra patrols in the area to monitor the demonstration.
White Plains community members met virtually on Monday evening to learn about the budget development process and provide input on the 2026-2027 school year budget. Superintendent Dr. Joseph Ricca and Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations Dr. Ann Vaccaro-Teich began the community input forum with a presentation about strategic, long-range, and budget planning before opening the floor to feedback from parents, guardians and community members.
